Fact: Social isolation and lack of social support for families is a risk factor that increases a child’spotential to suffer from child abuse or neglect.
The Grapevine offers universal access to supports, resources and services for families in Antrim, Hancock, Bennington, Francestown and nearby towns. These supports increase protective factors for children and families. In a recent survey of 38 parents participating in Better Beginnings parent-child programs, baby group and The Learning Vine preschool, parents talked about the impact that Grapevine programs have had on their lives.
Before attending a Grapevine program, only 26% of parents strongly agreed that they had supportive relationships, but after attending a Grapevine program, 51% of parents strongly agreed that they had supportive relationships, with 89% reporting an increase in supportive relationships.
