Alibrandi Fatal 2017
Antrim Police Department
Press Release

On September 13, 2017 at approximately 0943hrs the Antrim and Hillsborough Police Departments along with the Antrim Fire and Ambulance units responded to a two vehicle head-on collision on NH Route 202 in the area of Old Turnpike Road in Antrim. A 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser was headed south toward Antrim Center and for an unknown reason, gradually veered left into the northbound lane.  A 1989 Chevy Scottsdale truck was north bound at this time and tried to avoid the collision by veering right into the north bound breakdown lane where the collision took place.  Both vehicles suffered extensive crush contact damage and were later removed from the scene by Mike’s Towing.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, a 55 year old male from Hillsborough, NH (Joseph Alibrandi) was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.  The operator of the Chevy Scottsdale, a 64 year old male from Antrim (Stephen Platt) was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital by the Antrim Ambulance with reported non-life threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by Corporal Ethan Vaillancourt of the Antrim Police Department with assistance from the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team (CAR). Although the accident remains under investigation, it does not appear that alcohol was a factor at this time.
