Shawn Tillson
DOB 12/30/1981
Antrim, NH
Due to several recent break-ins at a mill building here in Town, an investigation was launched to include surveillance of the building.  Officer Sean Cavanaugh was conducting surveillance when at approximately 1:30 this morning he observed a suspect come down the driveway and enter the building.

Due to the large size of the building, the uncertainty of any weapons being involved and officer safety concerns, area units were called for mutual aid to assist in establishing a perimeter.  After securing the area with assistance from Hillsborough, Henniker, Peterborough, Bennington, and the NH State Police, the Keene and Southwest Regional SWAT Teams entered the building at approximately 6:47 am.

The suspect, later identified as 26-year old Shawn Tillson of Antrim, was located in the building approximately 45 minutes later.  Tillson was apprehended on the arm by a police K9 and taken into custody without further incident.

Tillson was arraigned in the Henniker District Court on one count of Burglary and one count of Resisting Arrest.  There was also an active bench warrant from Keene District Court.  Tillson was ordered held on $20,000 cash bail and transferred to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department to be held in the Valley Street Jail.

This investigation is still ongoing, however it is apparent that several thousand dollars of scrap metal and wiring have been taken from the building and this was the apparent motive of Tillson this morning.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all those agencies that assisted.  Had it not been for the aforementioned police agencies, supported by Antrim Fire and Rescue personnel, and the Hillsborough Dispatch Center, the outcome to this incident would not have turned out so positive.  I was extremely impressed with the dedication and professionalism of all who assisted in this incident.

Per Order:
Former Chief Todd Feyrer
