Festival of Trees
Once again, the Festival of Trees Committee will be lighting up the season and the library. The 2nd Annual Festival of Trees will be held at Tuttle Library from December 3 to January 7, during regular library hours. The grand opening of the season-long display will include a story by Dick Winslow read by Lyman Gilmore at the fireplace, music by Ray Sweeney, the drawing of the winning raffle ticket for the Festival of Trees Wall Hanging, a scavenger hunt, and lots of sweet and savory treats for everyone.

The trees will range in size from mini or tabletop to six foot trees and taller. This year we will include wreaths in our display. There are plenty of spaces available in all sizes. Designers choose their own themes. We are looking for entries from all traditions and cultures and invite you to use your imagination to create a dazzling display. Attendees will vote on their favorites in a variety of categories on Saturday, December 3, and ribbons will be awarded.

If you are interested in displaying a tree or wreath please click here for an information sheet and here for the registration form. The deadline for registering a tree or wreath is November 15.  Forms are available on the town website, at the Library, Rick & Diane’s, Trends of Fashion, the Presbyterian Church and from Committee Members.

This year we will also host an “Evening of Lights Gala” on Friday, December 2 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Library. We hope you will join us in your holiday finery for hors d’oeuvres, holiday music, a silent auction, and best of all, the opportunity to view all of the trees, wreaths and decorations with ample room and in full illumination. Tickets are $10 per person and go on sale November 15th. There are only 150 tickets available so make sure to get yours early. For tickets or more information about the Gala, please contact Thelma Nichols at 588-6766, or Missy Taylor at 588-7146,

If you would like to be a sponsor of the Silent Auction by contributing an item or gift certificate, please click here. If you would like to help defray the costs of the Festival by becoming a Festival Sponsor, please click here.
