A new tradition was born at the 2007 Home & Harvest Days Celebration:
The Bravest vs. The Finest.
This year it was the Police who took home the trophy after a spirited softball game with the Antrim Fire Department and Rescue Squad. All played with great enthusiasm and panache and the lopsided score of 31-14 was undoubtedly influenced by the emergency call in the 4th inning, when half of the fireman had to leave.
The game was organized by Officers Sean Cavanaugh and Matt Elliott for the Antrim Police Association, formed this year as a way for the officers to give back to community with events like this game, a 5K turkey trot planned for the fall and the donation of food baskets to local residents.
All are looking forward to a rematch next year at Home & Harvest 2008.
