These are the final upcoming GHSS events in August with a preview of a great outing in September.
Deering, Thursday, August 24
Annual GHSS Chicken Barbecue Come join us at our annual chicken barbecue at the
Deering Community Church pavilion starting at noon.
The meal is $4 if you bring a side dish (last name A-L)
or a dessert (last name M-Z). If you choose not to participate,
the meal is $5.
Call Marie Merrow (464-3067) by August 17th to reserve you spot.
Hillsborough Wednesday, August 30
GHSS’s Thrift Shop Expedition. The GHSS bus leaves
the Shaw’s parking lot at 10 a.m. to make the rounds
in Concord, Manchester, etc. to find some great bargains.
Lunch on you own at a site to be decided by the participants.
Cost $6. Call Marie Mogavero at 464-4726 to register.
Hillsborough Thursday, September 21
Foster’s Clambake in York, ME Sponsored by Greater Hillsborough Senior Services (GHSS) and the Town of Hillsborough
The menu includes Clam chowder, Maine clams, mussels, Maine lobster,
corn on the cob, red bliss potatoes with onions and blue berry crumb cake for dessert.
BBQ chicken or a vegetarian polenta dish are alternative entrée choices.
Bring you camera because just around the corner and up the hill is Nubble Lighthouse.
A coach bus will leave from and return to Shaw’s parking lot. Bus leaves at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $38.
Only 56 seats are available and will go fast, so
call Marie Mogavero at 464-4726 to reserve your seat. Full payment is due by September 14th. No refunds for cancellations.
