ANTRIM HISTORICAL SOCIETY
TUTTLE LIBRARY
PRESIDENTIAL BIOGRAPHY BOOK CLUB
On Thursday, November 15th at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Tuttle Library, Antrim readers will discuss the Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, generally considered the greatest President of the 20th century.
Much of the discussion will focus on Doris Kearns Goodwin’s No Ordinary Time. Professor Goodwin is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for biography
The Goodwin book is a “. compelling chronicle of a nation and its leaders during the period when modern America was created. With an uncanny feel for detail and a novelist's grasp of drama and depth, Doris Kearns Goodwin brilliantly narrates the interrelationship between the inner workings of the Roosevelt White House and the destiny of the United States. Goodwin paints a comprehensive, intimate portrait that fills in a historical gap in the story of our nation under the Roosevelts..”
Tuttle Library will try to borrow copies for anyone interested. However, anyone who would like to sit in on this conversation about FDR should do so; reading the Goodwin book is optional.
