Library Board of Trustees

Agenda was approved and accepted

Minutes of the March 19th meeting were accepted with a correction of Colleen Giffins name

Treasurer’s Report was presented and accepted

Library Director’s Report:

  • Lots happening at the library this month
  • The staff has been busy rearranging hours: two new people have come on board: Chris Brinkley will be handling the video section
  • Old books weeded out and newly added. 
  • There has been a big difference in the amount of children’s books taken out
  • State Park passes are now available-there will be backpacks in connection with these for children to take out
  • Work is happening on an Escape Room for the summer reading program-Cindy says these are quite popular now-more details to follow

Madelyn Klose was nominated for the Joseph D. Vaughan Award by the library staff and she won!!!! Presentation at the State House on May 6th @ 1:30. Anyone is invited to attend.

Discussion of ways to get Library Happenings out to the community. The Morning Show at Great Brook School was suggested Nancy will follow up.

The  Library Director has been authorized to spend up to $500 on binding the annual reports.

Old Business:
     
Rick has re-connected with the Antrim 20/20 Library Group

New Business:
     
The website was discussed.  The library and historical society can have a page on the town website-this may be the best option.  Library software may need updating.
     
A survey will be worked on to send out to the community to determine priorities for the library
     
Evaluations of staff and Library Director and By-Laws and Library Policies are immediate priorities of the Trustees: Cindy will work on evaluations for staff, Margie will work on an evaluation for Cindy.

Steve and Cindy will begin on the By-Laws and Policies
     
Rick is putting together a Town Directory on paper to be located in strategic places in town
Strategic Planning has been put on the back burner.
