Antrim PARC June 2021 meeting minutes
In attendance:
Isaac, Celeste, Jonas, Joan, Lisa and Tim
Minutes of the May meeting were approved with changes made
Farmers Market : Aimee expressed interest in moving on with a private venue. PARC members are willing to support her efforts if possible.
Gregg Lake:
Kayak Rack: A motion was passed to charge 5$ per day, 15$ per week, and 150$ per season/ per slot prorating for this season, providing select board approval. The season will run from May 1st through October 31st. This year is prorated due to a later start than normal.
Beach Rules: Swim test to the dock was discussed. This includes floating for 30 sec, treading water for 30 sec, swimming to life guard, jumping from the dock feet first, then swimming back.
All tobacco and vaping products will no longer be allowed anywhere in the park. Motion was made and approved.
Joan distributed a copy of the new boat sign after review from Marine Patrol rep.
SOAK: presentation of soak up the rain Tuesday 6-8-2021 at 6:30 on Gregg Lake.
Letter of intent was sent to LWCF
Tim is meeting with Jim Clark next week to discuss a memorial bench.
Handicapped portable toilets are difficult to get. Celeste is working on getting one to the lake.
Memorial Park: Celeste said the park is looking good. The skate park is being repaired. A park volunteer is working in the park every Wednesday and Friday. Town DPW will replace lights in the bandstand along with other repairs. A beaver was spotted on Mill Pond.
Shea Field: There have been no new requests. Some confusion exists with Great Brook over using the field for graduation. Field irrigation is on manual. Rick is now mowing the field. One irrigation head needs repair. DPW will fix a leak in a water faucet. No news on the water filling station.
Town Gym: Calls were made to the resealing contractor with no response.
Rec. Dept.: Summer programs are on track. Story walk with the library will be held in Goodell Park.
Survey: After discussion some language was changed. Lisa will create a Survey Monkey account. She will also rework the survey and share the link by June 30th.
