Antrim PARC Minutes January 2022

Meeting date:
Thursday, January 13, 2022

In Attendance: Isaac, Celeste, Jonas, Tim, Mike Ott, and Joan

Minutes from the last meeting were amended to correct Mike's name, then accepted

Gregg Lake: The proposal was submitted on the 17th with a new budget of $330,000.00.  A response should be heard before town meeting in March.  A warrant article needs to be prepared for town meeting for withdrawal of funds from CIP.  It was moved, seconded, and approved to increase this amount from $40,000.00 to $57,000.00.

Gregg Lake Association has asked to provide hot chocolate at skating events on Gregg Lake. The desire of the Association  is to provide the public insight into water quality efforts and hopefully gain new members.  This was approved by PARC

Memorial Park:  Decorations have been removed.  Celeste suggested that an approval system be put in place for individual events, such as weddings and memorial services, at the park and bandstand.  It will be reviewed at the February meeting.

Shea Field:  Nothing to report

Town Gym:  The exterior doors still need to be repaired.  Celeste reported that many programs are ongoing.  The Lions club will be sponsoring an event including corn hole, ping pong and pickleball on March 17th.  Friday Happy Hour Game Day will hopefully kick off on January 21st depending on the COVID situation.

Recreation Dept:  A budget workshop with the selectboard was held. The rec department budget for 2022 includes increased salaries for rec. and beach staff.

Other Topics:  Isaac will contact Peter from the Conservation Commision to walk the Hurlin Trust property for future use through PARC.  A fund was set up in memory of Mike Kuchinos with donations going to the Rec. Dept.  The Antrim Bennington Lions are hoping to hold a cornhole tournament/cabin fever night on March 17. Celeste has received their insurance certificate, and met with them once. Celeste will provide a formal request at our next meeting, but indicates that this is a good use of the gym.

Meeting ended at 8:40
