Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1973b, the State of New Hampshire and the Towns/Townships of Antrim, Benton, Boscawen, Millsfield, Newington, Pinkham’s Grant, Rindge, Stewartstown, Stratford, and Unity, give NOTICE that the State of New Hampshire has filed an action in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia seeking a declaratory judgment under the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended. The purpose of the action is to seek a declaration from the court that the State and the ten Towns/Townships listed in this notice are in full compliance with the Voting Rights Act, thereby providing the ten Towns/Townships with an exemption (known as a bailout) from the special provisions of the Voting Rights Act. NOTICE is further given that the State and the Towns/Townships have reached a settlement of the bailout lawsuit with the United States Attorney General.

Any person desiring information on the bailout or desiring a copy of the bailout settlement may contact the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s office. The contact person is David Scanlan, (603) 271-3242, david.scanlan@sos.nh.gov.
