PARC Meeting 7-7-2022

In attendance: Isaac, Celeste, Joan and Tim

Minutes from the last meeting were accepted

Gregg Lake:  Firework debris was found at the lake.  The police were notified.  The proposal for beach improvements has not been submitted yet.  Joan said that the portal is not open.  Joan attended a NH Lakes Congress meeting as a speaker about the Antrim Lake Association going ‘above and beyond’ in its efforts.  She was also recognized by DES for our watershed management in conjunction with the PARC beach project.  Celeste requested that people from out of town, who bring their children to swim lessons pay reduced parking fees.  The board approved this.  Celeste also mentioned that the new rescue board will not be purchased at this time.  The suggestion was made to have cameras installed to help prevent future vandalism.  The cost will be researched before the next meeting.  Some of the picnic tables need to be replaced.  Celeste and Tim will check on availability and cost.

Memorial Park:  Graffitti was found inside the toilets and gazebo.  The police will check the cameras on site. The fishing derby was well attended with many compliments.  The first Antrim in the Evening event was also well attended.

Shea Field:  There is a meeting scheduled with Tim Grassi about the Shea Field agreement on the 12th.  The softball group, who requested use of the field, has not shown up yet.  Lions club has volunteered manpower to refurbish the dugouts. Per John Robertson, at the Lions club meeting, the town will cover the cost of materials.  Tim sent a list of materials and cost to the Selectboard,  One toilet was removed from the field and sent to the beach.

Town Gym:  The gym floor will be sanded and finished in late October or early November on a Thursday-Sunday.

Recreation Dept.: The bike derby on the 14th was well received.  Peter D said that the town needs to look into the right of way on Buttercup with the thought of creating a disc golf facility.

New Business:  The Selectboard has not responded to our request for a little library at the town offices.  The other libraries will be installed this month.  The next meeting will be held in September.
