Antrim Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC) Meeting Minutes

May 14, 2020

Present: Robert Edwards, Joan Gorga, Isaac Lombard (Chair), Celeste Lunetta, Lori Moritz

7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Remote Meeting via Zoom)

Agenda

Minutes:  April 30  minutes approved.

Town Gym

Cracks in the floor were repaired. Waiting on agreement to be signed before scheduling schedule buff and coat.  

Discussion around the Memorial Gym Agreement, some changes were advised to be made. Bob will present to BOS.

Shea Field

Irrigation system turned on, found that old clock was malfunctioning,. Clock and rain sensor are 19 years old. A new unit will be installed. Hope this will reduce the sprinkler timing issues and prevent overwatering.

Walking Trail

                Discussed grant potentials, and need to meet with public and abutters if this is to go forward.

Rec Dept

Virtual programming and park maintenance is continuing. Beach and boat launch is busy when it is nice out. Proceeding with hiring lakehosts, beach staff and summer staff.  Revamping summer programming to meet new protocols for child care and daycamps.

Gregg Lake

Celeste presented pricing for a chain gate and proposed increasing the parking area by two spaces to narrow the opening, PARC agreed to move the suggestion to the BOS.

Signage is up, and rec dept staff are monitoring the beach, and police are increasing their drtive bys.

Memorial Park
