Antrim Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC) Meeting Minutes

Sept. 03, 2020

Present: Robert Edwards, Joan Gorga, Isaac Lombard (Chair), Celeste Lunetta, Christine Morris, Tim Morehouse,

7:00 pm – 9:18 pm

Minutes:  August 13th minutes were approved as read.

Shea Field

• Tim Grossi submitted a blanket request for AES and GBS use of field from 7:20 – 2:20 specifically for Physical Education classes and recess. This request asks for field use regardless of weather condition and removes the right of Celeste to close the field for repair.  ConVal also requested an expedited field request process in case they need to use it for after school skills and drills.

The Commission discussed this request and felt it was appropriate to grant use on a month by month basis.  This would allow us to monitor the condition of the fields and modify the agreement as necessary.  Celeste will ask SMS and GBS to fill out a Special Use request form monthly.  Celeste will also maintain the right to close the field or portions of the field as necessary to repair and maintain the field.

• PARC reviewed the draft Shea Field Letter of Agreement and recommended some modifications.  The draft will be updated and reviewed next meeting.
