October 2023 Minutes Draft

PARC Meeting 10-12-2023

In attendance: Isaac, Celeste, Joan, Jonas, and Tim 

Meeting started at 7:09

Minutes from the last meeting were accepted as amended

Gregg Lake:  Received grant for the boat launch.  We will approach the selectboard for our share of the grant.  This grant was secured with the encouragement of the selectboard.  Potentially the boat launch will be closed during repair.  Two new contractors have come forward to give bids for the bath house construction.    

Shea field:  The ‘Nerf and Turf’ event was a success.  The dugouts were repaired and repainted by volunteers from the Antrim-Bennington Lions Club.  The Lions Club also donated $500 for the build of a platform for the new equipment shed.  The platform was also built through volunteer labor from the Lions club.  New seed for the field was purchased.

Town Gym:  The exterior doors still need repair.  Some damage was caused by tape being applied to the floor.  A second pickleball night has been added. Tai chi has started. 

Memorial Park/Goodell Park:  Hillsborough Youth Services repainted the skate park.  A company in Connecticut was contacted about hydro raking Mill Pond.  The scarecrow event is happening again.  The gaga pit is still broken.  

Rec. Dept.:  Movies with subtitles will be offered.  There will be an open craft and game night on Wednesdays.  There is a craft program on Mondays at 3PM.   The budget for next year was discussed.
