Antrim Eclectic Book Club - Library

Event Date:
Thursday, December 21, 2023 - 2:15pm to 3:15pm

The Nightingale tells the story of two sisters, separated by years of experience, ideals, passion, and circumstance, each embarking on her dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France. A heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit ...

Among the questions Book Club members may discuss on December 21st are:

Why read a novel set in such depressing circumstances?

How does Vianne make ethical choices when she is, at the same time, trying to protect her daughter and husband?

How do gender roles affect this narrative?

Which scenes did you find emotionally charged?

The Antrim Eclectic Book Club meets on the third Thursday of each month between 2:15 PM and 3:15 PM at the James A Tuttle Library.
