TUTTLE LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING MINUTES

July 14, 2020

Members Present: Nancy Blair, Shelly Connolly, Rick Wood, Steve Ullman via Zoom.
Also present, Library Director Cindy Jewett and Diane Kendall whose name will be forwarded to the town to replace Margie Warner who has resigned.
Public Comments: None
Rick moved and Nancy seconded acceptance of the June Minutes. The motion passed.
Steve moved and Nancy seconded to send Diane Kendall's name to the town for approval to replace Margie Warner. Motion passed.
Treasurers Report was discussed and accepted.

Library Director's Report:

  • Library is in Stage 4 of re-opening (curbside and appointments). All is going well!
  • Database has been used more in the last 3 months than ALL of last year!
  • Deep Cleaning of the library took place and the staff was VERY pleased with the thoroughness.
  • Summer reading totals=257 books so far
  • Historical Society will renew the NH Historical Society membership this year.
  • Library discards will be picked up by Discovery Books on July 23rd
  • New desk in the Children's Room will be built by the NH State Prison.
  • Staff is working on...music and CD collection, overdue materials, patron records, repairing old books (Christopher is thinking of going to school for this!!!), summer reading and take-home craft kits. They made an on-line video to show the public just how books are being cleaned!!!
  • Elevator inspection, July 22nd

Old Business:

  • Festival of Trees will make a decision by September 1st as to whether or not the festival will be held and to what extent.
  • Looking for a flagpole for the flag that has been donated by Andy Robblee. John Robertson has donated a 35' pole. Waiting to see if this is tall enough.
  • Cindy will order commemorative plaques for those who have provided Trust Funds to the Library.
  • Confusion over the difference between Library Capital Improvement Reserve Fund and Town Building Capital Reserve Fund. Rick will have further discussion with the CIP Chair. What is each used for?
  • Nancy moved and Steve seconded to accept the NORTHEAST DOOR quote to repair the emergency doors and bring them up to code. Motion passed.

New Business:

  • There will be 2 seats up for re-election next March.
  • It was suggested that Avenue A take on our old benches as a woodworking project. Rick will contact John Conklin.
  • The train project in the Children's Room is moving forward.
  • Nancy moved and Shelly seconded that we purchase a Fathead Decal Collection for the Children's Room. Staff requested Finding Nemo. The motion passed.
  • Steve moved and Nancy seconded that we purchase signage to put in the driveway, addressing the neighbor's call-out of speeding through to the Grapevine. The motion passed.


Motion to adjourn by Nancy at 7:52PM, seconded by Shelly. Motion passed.
