James A. Tuttle Library Trustee Meeting Minutes
5/9/23
Susan called the Meeting to order at 6:30
Susan Bartlett, Rick Wood, Nancy Blair and Cindy Jewett were present
Steven Ullman, Jennifer Adams and Jenine Rubin were absent
During Public Comment Kathi Wasserloos came to show the Trustees where the AHS would like to put some permanent displays. This will be discussed at our next meeting.
Patrick Cogan came to show his proposal for lighting down the stairs to the parking lot. This will also be discussed at the next meeting.
Nancy moved and Rick seconded acceptance of the Agenda. Motion passed.
Rick moved and Nancy seconded acceptance of the Minutes from the previous meeting.
Motion passed.
Rick presented the Treasurer's Report:
we passed the audit with a recommendation to have staff bonus checks go through payroll. Budget is in good standing.
Nancy moved and Susan seconded the acceptance of the treasurer's report. Motion passed.
Director presented her report; Asked if we could become a “fine-free” library. Most libraries are now.
Nancy moved and Rick seconded. The motion passed. The James A. Tuttle Library is now a fine-free institution!
OLD BUSINESS:
Continuing to research lights for the Teen Room. Rick will ask Patrick for some ideas that he could do.
Light has been replaced at the front door.
There will a future presentation at the library from the GBS Washington Trip.
There will be a FESTIVAL of TREES this December. A committee has been formed.
Air handlers and upstairs windows will need attention down the road, but are ok for now.
NEW BUSINESS:
Cindy and AHS will discuss use of the upstairs shelving in the hallway and the kitchen.
Discussion and reports from those who attended the NHLTA Conference.
Discussion of a flagpole that is being purchased by AHS. Trustees may help with cost. Will discuss further.
Nancy moved and Sue seconded that we appropriate up to $500 for additional landscaping around the Gazebo. Motion passed.
Nancy moved and Rick seconded to adjourn @ 7:55PM Motion carried.
