James A. Tuttle Library Trustees Meeting
January 9, 2024

Present: Jennifer Adams, Susan Bartlett (Zoom), Nancy Blair, Jenine Rubin (Zoom), Steve Ullman, Rick Wood
Call to order (6:30 p.m.)
Public Comment (6:35 p.m.)

Rick moved and Jennifer seconded a motion to accept the Minutes from the December meeting.  Adopted unanimously.
Jennifer and Rick seconded a motion to accept the agenda as amended.  Adopted unanimously.

Director’s Report:  

The Library Page job description and the Library Volunteer job description, both discussed at the last meeting, have been approved.
Cyndi reported that while the in-person circulation has remained steady, the online withdrawals have greatly increased. 
Cyndi reported that the State Library will require an 8- or 9-digit ID number for the electronic collections.  She is planning for the transition.
Cyndi suggested that for 2025 the Library may change its hours and days open.  Staff seem to agree about exploring this option.  Jenine suggested the possibility of a Sunday opening.

Out of town patron fee is now $15.  Nancy moved and Rick seconded a motion to reset the out-of-town patron fee to $30 annually.  Adopted unanimously.

Cyndi, Christopher, and Susan met with Melissa Gallagher and Jacqueline Roland about possible cooperation on teenagers’ behavior at the Library.  The Library has posted reminders about proper patron behavior.  The meeting was quite positive.  

The Trustees discussed whether Christopher should get additional Library-oriented training.  Susan will discuss this matter with Cyndi.

Treasurer’s Report:
Rick presented the checking account reconciliation report.  As of today the check account total is $17,480.83.  Rick also reported on Trustees’ spending for 2023. 
Nancy reported that the Festival of Trees was a grand success.  James Panico is a first-rate, FOT leader.  

In April, Avenue A will present its members’ poems.  The Trustees will review these poems prior to the event.
Rick reported on the Antrim Historical Society’s possible purchase of the Church of Christ.  The AHS looks forward to making the rehabbed Church structure available to town organizations. 

Rick moved and Jennifer seconded a motion to adjourn.  Adopted unanimously.
