February 13, 2024, Meeting Minutes

Present: Jennifer Adams, Susan Bartlett, Nancy Blair, Jenine Rubin, Stephen Ullman, Rick Wood; Cyndi Jewett, Library Director; Public, Shelly Nelkens

Shelley Nelkens made a statement.

Nancy moved and Rick seconded approval of the revised agenda.  Voted unanimously.

Jennifer moved and Nancy seconded approval of the January meeting Minutes.   Adopted unanimously.

Correspondence was reviewed.

Rick delivered the Treasurer’s Report.  The Library is in strong financial shape. 

Nancy discussed a potential Library donation to the GBS 8th grade Washington trip.  Nancy moved and Jennifer seconded a motion to contribute $666.67 to the 8th grade DC trip fund.   Adopted unanimously.

Library Director’s Report:  Cyndi reported on circulation and other Library activities.  Baker and Taylor have raised its prices by $4 a book.  

Teens are returning to the Library in larger numbers.

Nancy presented the Friends’ proposal for purchasing Art Display Brackets.

Rick moved and Nancy seconded a motion to spend sufficient funds to purchase a set of Art Display Brackets.  Voted unanimously. 

The Library Gazebo will be on the cover of this year’s Annual Report. 

Jennifer moved and Rick seconded a motion to display Avenue A poems.

Jim Creighton will be talking about building coalitions in Afghanistan on February 24th.

Susan asked the Trustees to email her suggestions for 2024 Library goals.  

Rick moved and Jennifer submitted a motion to adjourn.  Adopted unanimously.
