Borrowing Policy

Resident card:

All Antrim and Deering residents are eligible for a free Library card. Library cards are issued to individuals and are not transferable to family members or friends.  The Library has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the Town of Bennington.

All individuals applying for a card must complete a registration form, show two forms of identification with current name and address, one being a photo-ID, and pay any fines or fees incurred previously at this Library.

Patrons are responsible for notifying the Library of any change to their name, address, phone number or email address. Any patron whose contact information is not current shall have his or her borrowing privileges suspended until the patron provides proof of current information.

Patrons are responsible for all materials checked out on their cards. Patrons are required to present their cards at the circulation desk for the most efficient service. Staff will check out material only to the person whose name appears on the Library card.

Deering residents have full access to all physical and electronic materials.  Bennington residents
have full access to physical materials only.

All patron accounts will be updated every 3 years to ensure the Library has accurate account information.

Non-Resident card:

A Library card is available to non-residents of the town of Antrim for a nonrefundable annual fee of $30.00 per person.

Delinquent borrowing

Patrons who do not return their materials after the 4th warning (50 days) will be blocked from borrowing materials physical or electronic until the materials are returned in good condition or replaced. Borrowing privileges may be limited if a patron neglects to return materials in a timely manner.

Reserves

Patrons can place items on reserve, and will be notified by phone, email, or text when the materials are ready for pick up. Patrons can pick up the reserved materials inside the building on the reserve cart.  Items placed on reserve will be held for 14 days.  If the materials are not picked up within 14 days the materials will go back into the circulating collection.
