Chief “Buster” Brooks is Remembered

memorial plaque for police officer

Over 18,000 officers have died in the line of duty since 1791. In 2005 one law enforcement officer died every 2.3 days.

It is important that we never forget those officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the lives and safety of the public.

Therefore, on behalf of the Antrim Police Department I would like to take this opportunity and remember one of Antrim’s finest, and present to the Town of Antrim a memorial plaque in honor of Chief Ralph “Buster” Brooks. Chief Brooks suffered a fatal heart attack on June 18, 1991 while investigating a report of vandalism at an abandoned factory.

This memorial will be kept in the lobby of the Antrim Police Department, however truly belongs to the citizens of Antrim and to the memory of Chief Brooks.

Sincerely,

Chief Scott R. Lester and

Former Chief Todd E. Feyrer
